Lokesh Dharmani: Breaking Fashion Norms with Confidence and Creativity

In an exclusive interview with Who’s That, Lokesh Dharmani shares his thoughts on fashion, individuality, and breaking traditional style rules. Known for his experimental approach to fashion, Lokesh believes that style is an extension of personality rather than just following trends.

“I always wanted my right,” he says, hinting at his desire to express himself freely through fashion. His life motto is ‘live and let live’, and this philosophy reflects in his fashion choices as well. To him, every outfit should be a piece of art, a statement of self-expression.

Lokesh questions the hesitation men have in experimenting with fashion, especially when it comes to bold choices like prints and accessories. “Four years ago, someone told me that you can’t wear print on print. But why not? If it’s aesthetically pleasing, why should we limit ourselves?” he challenges.

His fashion inspirations are deeply tied to his love for New York, a city that has influenced much of his personal style. He believes that trends come and go, but true style is about confidence. “One person follows a trend, and suddenly, everyone does the same. But fashion is not just about copying—it’s about owning your look,” he says.

When asked about the most stylish actors in Bollywood, Lokesh names Vijay Varma, Aparshakti Khurana, and Babil Khan. “Vijay’s fashion game has evolved so much. Aparshakti experiments a lot with jewelry—pearls, rings, everything. And Babil? He wears loose pants like I do. His style is effortless yet impactful,” he explains.

For Lokesh, there’s a huge difference between being stylish and just being good-looking. “A lot of celebrities are conventionally attractive, but that doesn’t always mean they are stylish. True style is about having a unique identity,” he emphasizes.
